The Study Companion was designed in order to assess the candidate's mastery of the material contained in the board review book. It contains questions and answers with references to specific chapters and sections. It is simply a useful tool intended in promoting active learning.

You will be asked to sign up for a free Gmail account and set up your computer for google chat prior to the examination date. You will then need to add "BeyondAnesthesia@gmail.com" to your friends list. At the specified time of the
scheduled examination you must make sure that you are in an
environment where you will not be disturbed for the next 30 minutes. A case question will be posed to you, this will be followed by 5 minutes of preparation and organization of the stem, 30 minutes of examination time, and a 10 minute review (45 min total). If you are prepared to proceed before the 5 minute preparation time, we will simply extend the examination time until 10 minutes remain from your session.
You should have a telephone line available to you as well as a fast internet access. This way if the connection is slow, or the video and audio is unstable we can continue to conduct the exam uninterrupted via the telephone. Once your mock oral examination is scheduled, exact instructions will be emailed to you. If there are still questions remaining, you are then encouraged to contact us with further inquiries.
Q: Can I change the time or day of my mock oral exam?
A: You are welcome to make changes to your examination time up to 24 hours prior to the actual start time of your mock oral exam.
Q: What is the cancellation policy for the mock oral exam Or an oral board seminar?
A: The mock oral exam can be cancelled 3 days prior to the actual start time of the exam. After 3 days, the fee is non-refundable although changes to the exam date can be made 24 hours prior to the examination start time. Unless rescheduled within that time frame, the registration fee is forfeited.
